DIY Friday: 13 days of goodies

"Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory & grace, I want to see my saviors face, cause heaven is a wonderful place! "

This week has been a bit rough. A friend of mine and her husband were killed in a car wreck on the way to see their families in Louisiana on Tuesday. I heard the news on Wednesday. And part of me says, no no, they're still alive, and the other part says, no they're not here anymore. (let me tell ya, it didn't help to watch a walk to remember either!)  But the awesome thing is, they ARE more alive than we are! Stinks for us, but its awesome for them! I never got the opportunity to meet her husband, But Hailey was awesome! So full of life and Jesus! To me she was and forever will be the flower gal. (She used to arrange flowers for a living! At least that was what she wanted to do, before getting married.) She was an incredible person, talented, creative, caring & so pretty! The rough thing for me to wrap my head around is, they had a dog and if you've ever seen the movie Hatchi with Richard Gere, then you'll know where I'm coming from, but that sweet puppy! What will happen to him? Both of his owners passed away. Or was he with them? : (  I just know Hailey & Matthew went to heaven, and what a great celebration they're having! :) Please pray peace & comfort for the Barr & Morgan families.

On a lighter note:
I thought this would be a fun DIY for ya, as I was assembling these goodie bags for my sister! ; ) You can do this DIY for birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries,  valentines, birthing babies, etc! Use your imagination! My mom and I, went to ulta for everything! Since my sister is a makeup artist, it's only natural to gift her with beauty products! I'd love this sometime! So fun!

What you'll need:
Brown paper lunch bags
Your goodies of choice
Hole punch
Ribbon or tulle
Sharpie
Big shopping bag (if transporting)
Notecard

This is pretty much self explanatory, so I won't be doing a step by step, this time!

(See got my bags from Wally World!)

Ta-da! Perfecto! Have a great weekend! -Ryn

Fancy Find: Hillsong concert

Amazing. Amazing. Uhh-mazing concert! If you haven't been to a Hillsong united concert yet, you really should! Its probably one of the only concerts where you can sing and raise your hands, and not be considered idolizing something/someone. Totally freeing!
And It was totally worth the money! i did NOT regret it! It was beautiful, incredible, fantastic, lovely,.. And that's only some of the words I came up with to describe it! It was just what I needed. And must I say, I just love Aussies! At least these Aussies, they have such genuine personalities. It was an incredible night. Saying I had fun would be an understatement! I probably will never forget it. Well done, Hillsong united, well done!

I'm now curious as to what their church services are like at the main hub in Australia... Guess I'll have to find out! ; )

Aaand, a good friend of mine will be attending the hillsong concert at the Redrocks in Colorado on Thursday, and if there was a way, I would totally go! Gorgeous scenery & awesome tunes, sounds like a great Thursday!

Check for upcoming tour dates: www.hillsongunited.com

Soul Searcher: Mother's Day recap

To Moms, Mamas, Mas, Mommies, Mothers, Madres, Mommas, Grammies, Grannies, Nonnies, Nanas, Grandmas, Granmothers, Marmies, mommies to be,single mommies, moms that are dealing with a child in the hospital & mommies that have lost a child,  My this year be the best year yet! May Proverbs 31 run through your heart like blood through your veins.

Happy Mother's Day to the best moms in the world! The Lord has definitely graced you to do what you do! I'm not there yet, but you're a natural! You give style & grace a whole new meaning! Y'all are wonderful! Thank you for ALL you do!

So, I got to celebrate with my mom a day early (because I'm her favorite child of 4 girls, hehehe), I bought her Diamond Rio concert tickets at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth stockyards, for Saturday night at 10:30. Now I'm not usually a girl, who goes out past 9:00, but to tell ya the truth I kinda liked it! ; ) The concert was actually awesome, considering I only knew about 5 songs! Hah! But it was worth it!  My mama had had great time! It was perfect!

The only unfortunate & disturbing thing that I saw a boat load of ladies in their 70's looking like hoochie mamas! It was terrible! And I saw a whole lot of PDA! It wasn't as romantic as those couples thought it was! Ewww!

Here are a few pics from the concert:
This was my beautiful mama & me
(not our best looks, but it was the only selfie we took)

If either you haven't been to Texas or you haven't been to a country music concert, or you haven't been to a country music concert in Texas, ya really should! You are surely missing out!  Let's just say, ONLY in TEXAS!

Then I was able to celebrate my mom & my sisters(kinda weird thinking about my sisters being mothers, but hey, somebody has to do it right?) on Sunday, first going to church with my mom, then our tradition to go to dunkin' donuts afterwards for coffee (& donuts, that I need to give up), my treat!
p.s mint chocolate chip iced coffee with lots of cream, no sugar is my favorite right now!

And then we came back home & chilled before we left to go over to one of my sista's houses for dinner. And then after dinner, we stayed and chatted for awhile and then we left to come back to our house and pretty much did our own thing!

Not too shabby of a day!!!

Happy Mother's day!!! Love y'all so much! -Ryn

No Make-up Monday

So My Sister, Heather, wrote an article on www.destinyinbloom.com this week and women from all over started taking pictures of themselves and posting it on their facebooks, instagrams, twitters, you name it. Yesterday was not only a day to celebrate freedom of make-up, but it was also to celebrate being pretty in your own skin! I'm proud of you, Heather! Love you!

I know for me, I like wearing make-up, I enjoy it much! Sometimes I get consumed in wearing it, I forget, I don't have to wear it all the time, I can go out of the house without my minimal make-up required rule...
Sometimes I think each of us, think we'll be judged by the way our faces look. and if it's not perfect to the T, well then, I'm sorry, you're in the reject pile. But that's definitely not the way it should be... or how we should allow it. You make your own choices and you make the decision to stay beautiful with or without make-up. I think sometimes, that we use our make-up as a type of security blanket of sorts... Where if we have that made up face, our flaws are subdued... that our insecurities are secured... It's kind of awful really! How society has trained us, that if you're not perfect, you're not worthy... But you are so worth it! And so very very beautiful! Strut your pretty stuff! Take off that security blanket we call make-up and live.it.up! Have confidence & a new perspective on life & beauty!

And now that I bared my naked face, Here is a glimpse of me, baring my heart... and what a true testimony it is, that shows you what true forgiveness really does! : )

Nowadays, People ask me, Was it fun growing up with a sister that was a make-up artist? That's a tough question to answer... Not really, I tell them! By this time they have a dumbfounded look on their faces and they usually ask why? if I'm still standing there, and haven't walked away...

Well, it wasn't always pocket full of posies! My life has been pretty wonderful with a few troubled waters along the way. I had the choice to hold bitterness in my heart. I had the choice to hold unforgiveness in my heart towards her... We used to argue ALL the time! As any sisters would, but then those arguments would turn into hatred for me... there was a point in my life, where I could honestly despise seeing her, talking to her and being around her. Those were MY choices. Who was I not forgiving? Her, which turned into not forgiving myself! Kinda crazy right?! I was holding unforgiveness in my heart that was intended for her, but in turn it was ALL on me! I wasn't forgiving myself. I was holding onto unforgiveness of something we argued about or she had done and I was taking the brunt of it! I was hurting myself! Which in turn if you let that fire sizzle, it's going to burn YOU! Am I over it yet, Yes. are the wounds still tender... yes. Am I proud of them, of course not! Am I walking unforgiveness, I try! (I'm human) and that's where grace comes in! : )
 I forgive you.......

Did you know that for every time you hold bitterness in your heart towards another person, you are causing wrinkles and you are decreasing the number of years on your life!? New Perspective. eh?

So I encourage you to Forgive. Forgive. Forgive! It makes for a happier life indeed!

I'm just now, not caring that we like the same things...( I have to remind myself, girl, it's fine we can have the same things!) Our styles are very similar... but still not entirely the same. But I used to cringe when we would like the same things. And she knew it too. and I think she did things just so I would cringe!

But one of my goals this year for 2013. Was to let go, don't get upset or mad, Don't get upset for the people around me that she gets upset with! One, I'm not here to judge. and 2. I'm not here to hold years and years worth of things, against her! For one thing, she may not even remember what made me angry in 2007! (Neither do I, but that was the year I picked) It's ridiculous to hold things in your heart for that long!  We have similar taste. But, not everything is to each of our likings! Hallelujah! ; ) And as time goes by our styles change, ALWAYS for the better! ; ) it's just in this year and part of last that, that we have grown closer as sisters & friends! (I know, I'm as shocked as you to say that f-word!) But yes, We're friends! Are we besties? I think we will become that someday, maybe in the near future! Who knows!

But now she's my make-up artist & I'm her stylist! (what are the odds?) I lift her up, In my words and in my prayers... Praying always wins!

And If you need help in both arenas, Please let us know! We would love to meet & help ya!

Although, she can't help ya between, June 22nd-July 6th, Because my favorite-ist part about this blog, Is My niece will be arriving then!!! Emma, You are in for an incredible and beautiful ride! So excited! I'll teach you you everything I know! and you'll look cute while learning! ; )
Lemme tell you, the Lord does exceedingly above what you could hope, dream or imagine! I prayed this girl in! And I am oh so thrilled!

-Ryn

P.s. Even though today is almost gone you can still read her article & send in you naked face pictures to www.destinyinbloom.com! Or post them onto facebook: Destiny in Bloom : )

Soul Searcher: Happy Valentines Day, y'all!

Soo, I had this really awesome idea to make cute, cunning and funny/quirky valentines... But the chances of me actually doing them are mighty slim... Since I still have yet s boatload of sewing & paperwork to do before next weekend for ETA Dallas! : /

So, I'll greet you with these kind words:
Happy LOVE Day! Eat chocolate. Laugh. Be spontaneous! Pay it forward. Buy someone coffee. Don't do anything you don't want to do. Find love. Expect love. Love LOVE. Love people. Love God. Be a lover of His presence. Send presents. Give Love. Surprise someone. Be a lover not a fighter. Smile. Get dressed up. Be a hermit and stay in. Love on someone!

Love each and everyone of ya!

Praise report! Ringing thankfulness...

Soo, awhile ago, I lost one of my most favorite rings... Ever! (While cleaning out my grandpa's house, my nana had a ring that I just loved, so I claimed it as my own) And I looked high and low, but could not find it anywhere! So I prayed, and said, Lord direct my eyes to see where it is!" So The Lord totally came through! (As always) I was cleaning my closet of all things today, and lo and behold, there it was under a sheet set! Oh man! I love the feeling of thanksgiving I was overwhelmed with! It was spontaneous, but sincere. It has to be engraved in the walls of my heart. Man it was so good to thank God! One for the thing that I lost, but also for just being there for me! With things that have come against my family and myself, it was perfect timing! The Lord has impeccable timing! When you feel you can't go any farther, when you feel like you want to just give up, Don't! Hand it over to the Lord, and he will turn your situation upside down and give you the desires of your heart! Just stay steady & know the Lord is always faithful! : )

May opportunities & expectancies abound to you this year!
-Ryn

(Currently wearing the ring on my left ring finger! Praise Him!)

Day 25: Tiz Huch - Christmas Blessings

Tiz Huch is a Co-Pastor with her husband, Larry Huch, of DFW New Beginnings Church in Dallas, TX,
Co-Host of worldwide TV Program "New Beginnings", Author, Public Speaker, Businesswoman, Artist, and Interior Designer.
But, most importantly, she is a wife, mother and grandmother! The number one passions and priorities of her life are God and
her family. Her new book "Releasing Family Blessings", is co-authored with her husband, Larry, of 36 years. It is dedicated to
teaching men and women how to create fabulous marriages and wonderful, godly and forever families!
Tiz has an interactive website with Blogs called "Soul Infusions--A Daily Dose of Faith, Inspiration and Motivation", where she
talks about positive, simple steps to creating an incredible life, family, business and future. Check it out at TizHuch.com.

At a time when our nation is facing so many complex issues and challenges, it may somehow seem petty or superficial to talk about the importance of Holiday family traditions.
Years ago, during some very tumultuous years in America, First Lady Barbara Bush, was asked "What can we, as individuals, do to help keep America strong and great?" She
replied " If Americans will build great and strong families, America will be a great and strong nation." This is a profound and powerful statement!
Our simple, small family units and family traditions can affect the strength and future of our nation! "As the family goes, so goes the nation!" Never underestimate the
far reaching effects and impacts of creating strong, stable, loving, compassionate and kind families! This is, and always has been, God's plan to establish His dominion, plans and
purposes on earth. This is a comforting and compelling truth for us. It keeps us focused on what is most important. It assures us that the time and effort we invest in our families is not in vain,
but, will be multiplied back into our own lives. Love is like a boomerang. What you give out will come back around to you! I am so thankful to say that this is true in my own family.
My husband and my kids and my grandkids (my Sugars ) are all the light of my life! They are my best friends and my proudest accomplishment in life! And I can say that they each help to
make the world a better place. Oftentimes, great impact is made from thousands of small impacts. I say that, not to brag, but to encourage others, that our daily, continual, small acts of love
add up to big, long term lives of joy, purpose and rewards!

(Meshali Mitchell did the photography, you can view her photos & prices: HERE)

Having said that, let me encourage you this Holiday to:
Create loving and fun Holiday Traditions! Make a big mess of your kitchen making and decorating Christmas cookies! Watch old Christmas movies with your family, friends and kids!
Fill your home with Christmas lights and decorations! Drink eggnog and eat lots of Treats! Be Merry! Make your home cheery and bright! Laugh! Smile! Hug and smooch!
Accentuate the positive! Eliminate the negative! Make your home a "No frowning or grumbling zone"! Play Christmas songs and sing along--out loud! Be kind!
Give to others in need! Be generous! Be thankful! Love family! Love friends! And, most of all, LOVE GOD!!!
God bless you greatly, so that, you can BE a great blessing!

And, be sure to celebrate Jesus! He's the reason for the Season!

Merry Christmas - Tiz
