DIY Friday: Attention

Hey loves! I hope all is well in your corners of the world, wherever that may be! : )

I have some disappointing news for ya, I will not be uploading a DIY today! : (
But I will try and get one up next week! : )

Because I'm helping my mama with an event she's planning, I have put everything pretty much on hold until next week so I can give her most of my attention! I will be back in the swing of things starting Wednesday!

I do want to say, I have been watching fashion week online and so far Rachel Zoe & Nicole Miller are my two faves right now! Haven't watched them all yet, but when I do I'll let you know who really is/are my favorite(s)! And if you'd like to watch too, go to: www.newyorkfashionweek.com. It's quite enjoyable! : )

Also I have been thinking about starting a new miniseries of blogposts, which I would upload on Thursday. I would call it Thankful Thursday, just to get into the spirit of thanksgiving and all that jazz! I would say what I'm thankful for and explain why I'm so thankful for it! I would start the first Thursday of October... What do y'all think? Something I should do? Or not? I would love for y'all to join in and comment or email me with what you're thankful for too!

Also still available to style you! Just email me with what you would like me to do!

If you have any suggestions for the blog, or have a question for me, or would like to get a hold of me, please contact me via email: styledbyryn@gmail.com

Thanks y'all! Love ya, Ryn

Style Fyle: autumn is coming...

As I've mentioned before, I LOVE Autumn! I love the smell, the cooler weather, the leaves changing, the warm drinks you order from a coffee shop, the cozy feelings, how the stores get ready for the fall fashions, the Bonfires & hayrides, the thanksgiving celebrations,... EVERYTHING! I adore it all!

One of my most favorite things in autumn are the outfits and pieces you can wear & come up with! It's soo much better than summer, not to knock summer, I just like Fall better! 😉 It's a magical time of year.

I love fall colors; the berry, teal, emerald, rust, mustard, cream, camel... Etc. but you don't have to wear the colors of fall to celebrate fall! Neons are still IN, among other colors too! Am just excited to wear some of my deeper colored nail polishes! Woohoo!

Here are a few pics I gathered from my www.Pinterest.com boards, I hope you find inspiration in all of these looks! : )

Casual:
These looks are for the more casual lifestyle. The one who shops, works in a less conservative atmosphere, the artistic & such!

The poncho and the Oxford underneath andwith the rain boots, so so cute!

With the hat and the scarf and the stripes...oh my! Perfection!

I bought a felted hat like this, this past spring and I'm so excited to wear it finally!
Also the collared shirt underneath the oversized shirt looks so great!

I also bought an oversized cashmere sweater this past spring, I will definitely be trying something like this with it!

The whole patches thing on the jeans to the chambray & sweater. Gorgeous.
I'll be wearing my chambray shirts all season long!

I'm all about the flares right now! And with that fur coat, amazing!

I'm liking the whole red pants look! Especially with a big comfy sweater. This look looks ultra chic!
Don't forget to utilize your floral & colored denim this fall too!

What don't I like about this outfit? Pretty much nothing...
The hi-lo hemline with the shirt underneath, genius!

That scarf and brogues look luxe with that outfit!

Leather (or faux leather) pants are such an unexpected surprise to any outfit!

With the boots and the patchwork blazer, you can't really go wrong! : )

Work:
These are some ideas for corporate working environments...

The colors just meld beautifully together.

Those pants are so cute, and that vest! The scarf brings everything together &
makes the whole outfit pop!

I'm really liking the casualness of the zip up hoodie with the pencil skirt. Such a
nice combo! The leopard shoes are great too!

Ugh! I really like this look! The whole thing! With fur vest, the skirt( I bet it's midi length!) and top bun & sunglasses! Perfect in everyway!

The cinched in blazer with a belt. Super cute right?

See neon? It's such a good break from all the black going on!

I'm really diggin' the ankle pants with the socks & platform booties, i'll have to try that!
And that jacket is super cute, right?!?

This would look like Christmas on you body if the colors were brighter, but since they are very deep & luxe, it totally works!

If you have any summer-y skirts you still want to wear, you can totally pair them with tights and a cozy sweater! It's such a fun fall look!

This is just chic & intense. With the heeled booties & coat, you can't really go wrong!

Which stores I will be frequenting this fall & winter:
Madewell (duh!)
Old navy (it's my kind of forever 21)
Nordstrom & Nordstrom rack
H&M
Neiman Marcus
Gap
Free people
Ulta
Anthropologie
And any others along the way ; )

Online:
Poshmark
eBay
Etsy

I hope you liked this! Please leave comments down below! It would be awesome to let me know if you like what I write! Thanks so much & love you dearly! -Ryn

Style find: Nordstrom anniversary sale

This is my ALL TIME favorite time of year! The time when Nordstrom sends out their catalogs for their infamous anniversary sale!!! I received mine about a week ago! And I got giddy, just thinking about autumn & clothes! My favorite season for clothes is autumn! Once it hits July, my mind is already on fall clothes & outfits! It's happened like that since grade school. Although I would usually go shopping in August, but why wait?

If they are putting autumn stuff out in July, you might as well peruse the racks and get outfit inspirations too. Take advantage of it. With the Nordstrom anniversary sale, you go into these curtained rooms, where all of the autumn inventory is on sale before it hits the shelves. It's such fun! But I believe you have to own a Nordstrom credit card. But if you know someone who owns a Nordstrom card, make it a shopping date & go with them! It's like attending a private party while you shop! Amazing!

Cashmere, velvet, corduroy, oh my!

My style is always eclectic but I'm liking right now the madewell/free people style. Boho, free, easy & preppy!

On my list for fall:
Denim flare jeans
Flared out tees (HERE)
Cardigans
Cashmere
Sidewalk skimmers from Madewell 1937
Monogrammed The Transport Tote in saddle brown
Heeled leather clogs
Rockstar jeans in batman rinse
Brown ankle boots
Corduroy flare pants
Leather motorcycle jacket

I just LOVE the richness of autumn colors in clothes, such chicness: chartreuse, oxblood, sapphire, onyx, pewter, Bordeaux, orange, tobacco etc!

Here are some of my favorites from the Nordstrom anniversary sale catalog:

Does anyone else like autumn as much as I do?!

Happy outfits, Ryn

DIY Friday: boot storage

So this post is for the organizing at heart folks! This is for storing your boots... You know the boots you wear in autumn and winter. and with the weather we've been receiving, in the spring too!

The easiest way to store them without letting them lay limp & lifeless is to use pool noodles. Yes, you heard me correctly, pool noodles! And what better time than the beginning of pool season to stock up? ( I bought mine at Target for $3.99 ea.) and I used 1 for two pair. It's super easy & inexpensive to take car of your boots! I was just in The Container Store the other day & they had boot stands that where anywhere from $15-$25 a pair. And I just bought a pool noodle for $3.99, cut it & and used it for two pair of boots! Praise Him!

After doing this, I can actually hear my boots saying thank you and we love you Ryn, can't wait for fall! ; )

So comment below when you try this!!! I'd love to hear if you've tried it yet!

What you'll need for your boots to say thank you:
Pool noodles (depends on how many boots you have)
Knife ( I used a plastic lettuce knife, but a bread knife would work just as well)
Boots
Marker

Get your boots & noodles!

Plastic Lettuce Knife

Marker (Le pen is what I used)

You'll want to measure the noodle inside of the boot.

Make sure it goes all the way down to the heel.

Mark the noodle where it hits or an inch below the top of boot with the marker.

Cut the noodle where you marked it.

Measure the cut noodle with rest of the noodle and mark it and cut.

There's the limp & lifeless boots.

And here are the full of life & full noodles boots I just love!

Perfect!

By the way, This is the best stuff to revive you r leather shoes & boots! I'm sure you can find this at walmart or target... This one is from Nordstrom Rack, It was about $4.95 I think.
