DIY Friday: Fatty Coffee

First things first: I hate the name of this coffee, but I'm not really sure what to call it! So if you think of another name for it, comment below please!!! 👇👇👇

So my mom and I were watching a YouTube video from one of her bloggers she follows: Abel James. Well, he did this video on fatty coffee.. And it looked amazing! Yes there is a ton of "good" fat in it, so if you watch your caloric intake, this coffee isn't for you! But if you like coffee and you want something that satiates you in the morning for hours, this coffee is indeed, for you! I've made my own version for myself for about 4 days inconsistently. And each time, I feel full and ready to conquer the world! (I usually eat cottage cheese and banana with it...and sometimes protein.) But its the perfect pick me up! To tell ya the truth, it sounded a little weird to put a pat of butter in my coffee, but I was willing to try it. And It's pretty darn good, I must say!
Although, I haven't come up with a solution to travel with it or go to coffee shops and enjoy it there... that's still in the works...

Disclaimer: this only works with Hot coffee! Or a blended coffee drink. Believe me, I made the mistake of putting it in an iced coffee. I don't recommend it... Unless you dig chewy coffee... I just know I don't! Haha!

What you'll need:
Hot Coffee
1 Tablespoon Coconut oil
1 Tablespoon Butter
Heavy whipping cream
Stevia (or sugar substitute of your choice)
Mug

Do the same thing you usually do with making coffee. Water, coffee grounds & coffee pot, Keurig or French press, etc! (You can use your toddy coffee, you'll just have to heat it up on the stove or in the microwave)

I used this coffee ^^^ from Trader Joe's, but you are more than welcome to use your favorite coffee!

Turn your coffee pot on. (Big step right here!)

Gather you ingredients together:
Cream, butter & coconut oil.

And stevia....

Also grab your mug!

Coffees READY! 😃

Pour coffee in your cup and get ready to put some odd but great things into your coffee!

Add Butter.

Next, add coconut oil.

Then add yo cream! (I for one, like my coffee the same tone as Shakira)

And presto! Enjoy the satiated feeling you'll receive when enjoying this fantastic coffee! And all of the healthy benefits too!

Thanks for reading Ya'll, Ryn : )

Styled find: boyfriend jeans

I'm currently on the quest for boyfriend jeans for the wardrobe. If you are unsure of what kind of fit a boyfriend jean is, here is a good definition (thank you wikipedia):

In fashion design, primarily in ready-to-wear lines, boyfriend is any style of women's clothing that was modified from a corresponding men's garment. Examples include boyfriend jackets, boyfriend jeans, and boyfriend blazers, which are often more unisex or looser in appearance and fit than most women's jackets or trousers, though still designed for the female form.
The origin of boyfriend fashion is literally borrowing and wearing a boyfriend's clothes—his distressed jeans, his band tees, his dress shirts, his blazers, his cardigan. The trend expanded in 2009 when actress Katie Holmes was spotted in public wearing Tom Cruise's slouchy jeans after a Broadway rehearsal; other celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Rachel Bilson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and others began to follow the trend. From there, many brands such as Gap, Forever 21 and H&M began to create boyfriend fashion products or men's-inspired fashion.
The boyfriend blazer has been featured in many of the spring 2010 walks such as Charlotte Ronson, Cynthia Rowley, and Elie Tahari, and the trend continued into 2011. There are two main important ways to wear the look: making it over sized, and rolling up the sleeves. The boyfriend trend is all about wearing clothes that look a size too big for the wearer. It is recommended to only go up one size. By rolling up the sleeves, it makes the look more feminine and balances it out while implying that the sleeves would be too long for the wearer's arms. The boyfriend blazer ranges in many different shades ranging from classic hues of black and gray to whites, pinks, and neons. They are very versatile because they can be worn with a cocktail dress, and skirt and blouse.

The boyfriend jeans are a versatile staple in one's wardrobe to have. Mainly because you can pair them with a whole lot, like:
Tees
Floppy hats
Ankle boots
Blazer
Heels
Crisp white button ups
Cardigans
Wedges
Blouses
Silky button ups
Tanks
Sneakers
Ballet flats
Etc.

It's a chic alternative to skinny jeans. you can look put together without looking frumpy. I really believe you should wear what you love to make you happy! Another thing, try to mix it up, try something feminine with something cutting edge, to give your outfit balance.

Here are some of the boyfriend jeans I have my eye on:

Oldnavy: $34.94

J.crew: $168.00

GAP: $69.95

Madewell: $98.50

Anthropologie: $210.00

So, Hopefully we all find the perfect fit!  - Ryn

Soul Searcher: Mother's Day recap

To Moms, Mamas, Mas, Mommies, Mothers, Madres, Mommas, Grammies, Grannies, Nonnies, Nanas, Grandmas, Granmothers, Marmies, mommies to be,single mommies, moms that are dealing with a child in the hospital & mommies that have lost a child,  My this year be the best year yet! May Proverbs 31 run through your heart like blood through your veins.

Happy Mother's Day to the best moms in the world! The Lord has definitely graced you to do what you do! I'm not there yet, but you're a natural! You give style & grace a whole new meaning! Y'all are wonderful! Thank you for ALL you do!

So, I got to celebrate with my mom a day early (because I'm her favorite child of 4 girls, hehehe), I bought her Diamond Rio concert tickets at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth stockyards, for Saturday night at 10:30. Now I'm not usually a girl, who goes out past 9:00, but to tell ya the truth I kinda liked it! ; ) The concert was actually awesome, considering I only knew about 5 songs! Hah! But it was worth it!  My mama had had great time! It was perfect!

The only unfortunate & disturbing thing that I saw a boat load of ladies in their 70's looking like hoochie mamas! It was terrible! And I saw a whole lot of PDA! It wasn't as romantic as those couples thought it was! Ewww!

Here are a few pics from the concert:
This was my beautiful mama & me
(not our best looks, but it was the only selfie we took)

If either you haven't been to Texas or you haven't been to a country music concert, or you haven't been to a country music concert in Texas, ya really should! You are surely missing out!  Let's just say, ONLY in TEXAS!

Then I was able to celebrate my mom & my sisters(kinda weird thinking about my sisters being mothers, but hey, somebody has to do it right?) on Sunday, first going to church with my mom, then our tradition to go to dunkin' donuts afterwards for coffee (& donuts, that I need to give up), my treat!
p.s mint chocolate chip iced coffee with lots of cream, no sugar is my favorite right now!

And then we came back home & chilled before we left to go over to one of my sista's houses for dinner. And then after dinner, we stayed and chatted for awhile and then we left to come back to our house and pretty much did our own thing!

Not too shabby of a day!!!

Happy Mother's day!!! Love y'all so much! -Ryn

DIY Friday: Lettered Tee

I'm do excited to be sharing this with you!!! This has got to be one of my favorite DIY's yet!
I kept seeing these really basic scripted tees and sweatshirt on Pinterest, and fell in love with them! See what I mean?

So, I had to make my own! And in honor of my upcoming trip to Paris, I just had to put my saying in French, using the handy dandy google translator! I used the quote "favor is chasing me down & overtaking me!" But you're welcome to use a different quote! I just liked it for me and it's just such a good reminder!

Plus, anything in French, makes it all the more fancy, I think! I love the look. So chic & romantic.

And the other day I bought this incredibly long raglan sleeved sweatshirt from old navy in the clearance section. (I'm hoping they have more) and I just knew I had to do something lovely to it! : )

I'll be making more of these and maybe so tees too, with different sayings on them! You can style them so chicly! : )

Here are the deets on how to make these amazing shirts!!!

What you'll need:
Tee or sweatshirt
Paint (I used jacquard and acrylic)
Letter Stencils (I bought mine at Home Depot or Lowe's, not exactly sure which one)
Triangle make up sponge
Sewing Marker (one you can erase with water, it should be blue)
Tape measure
Towel or piece of wood (to go between the layers of the shirt)

1. Lay out your shirt on a clean surface. Use the wood to separate the layers of the tee.

2. Measure where the middle and then mark it. Then mark starting corner & finishing corner.

3. Place your stencils on the shirt. Use a bowl, place your paint color in there. Then use your sponge and dip it in the paint.

4. Dab the sponge on the stencil on the tee, remove the stencil and then repeat to the next stencil.

5. Until you've done the entire quote.

6. Then hang to dry for 12-24hrs.

7. Then iron on medium-high heat to set the paint so it doesn't wash out in the washer when you clean it.

And viola! You've got an incredibly cute tee, just waiting to be styled!

Also, Are there any good DIY's out there that I jusr NEED to try?!  Comment below!! I'd love to it!!

Hope ya'll are enjoying these DIY projects! Let me know, please!
Love y'all, Ryn

Style Find: Sidewalk Skimmers

I am a shoe snob. Let's get that out there. I prefer leather shoes... I'm not ashamed to say it! I love leather shoes. They last so much longer than synthetic leather. Yes it may seem expensive at first, but once you wear them enough, you will come to realize you got your monies worth out of it for sure!

I am one to take a great deal of care to my shoes... they're my babies, besides my dog... I just keep them in the best shape, I can, until I HAVE to throw them out. I like to rotate my shoes for one thing, so it give them a breather, and then I wear them again... It works, believe me, it does!

I adore sidewalk skimmers from Madewell! I got a pair for Christmas and they are definitely favorites of mine. I got the emerald green. I just love a pop of color against a pretty neutral outfit, it just works so well together! I am hoping to make a purchase soon to get more of these lovely lil' nuggets of shoes. They are super comfy. Very chic. And sometimes affordable! : ) I'm sold on these! Ahhhdorable!

They run anywhere from $98 to $128 I believe... Buuut if you can get them on sale, that's the best deal!

Here are the ones I'm so totally swooning over!!! I think they will be so great with almost every outfit! They are just my fave!
You can find these: HERE

I'm also loving these. Perfect neutral color! A cross between taupe & creme! Beautiful!

Ahh who am I kidding I really like these as well! ;) The stripe did me in! And you know me, I am a sucker for stripes...
You can find these: Here

DIY Friday: boot storage

So this post is for the organizing at heart folks! This is for storing your boots... You know the boots you wear in autumn and winter. and with the weather we've been receiving, in the spring too!

The easiest way to store them without letting them lay limp & lifeless is to use pool noodles. Yes, you heard me correctly, pool noodles! And what better time than the beginning of pool season to stock up? ( I bought mine at Target for $3.99 ea.) and I used 1 for two pair. It's super easy & inexpensive to take car of your boots! I was just in The Container Store the other day & they had boot stands that where anywhere from $15-$25 a pair. And I just bought a pool noodle for $3.99, cut it & and used it for two pair of boots! Praise Him!

After doing this, I can actually hear my boots saying thank you and we love you Ryn, can't wait for fall! ; )

So comment below when you try this!!! I'd love to hear if you've tried it yet!

What you'll need for your boots to say thank you:
Pool noodles (depends on how many boots you have)
Knife ( I used a plastic lettuce knife, but a bread knife would work just as well)
Boots
Marker

Get your boots & noodles!

Plastic Lettuce Knife

Marker (Le pen is what I used)

You'll want to measure the noodle inside of the boot.

Make sure it goes all the way down to the heel.

Mark the noodle where it hits or an inch below the top of boot with the marker.

Cut the noodle where you marked it.

Measure the cut noodle with rest of the noodle and mark it and cut.

There's the limp & lifeless boots.

And here are the full of life & full noodles boots I just love!

Perfect!

By the way, This is the best stuff to revive you r leather shoes & boots! I'm sure you can find this at walmart or target... This one is from Nordstrom Rack, It was about $4.95 I think.
