One of my favorite things... Sequins & chambray

Sequins and chambray! My favorite! Seriously such a great combo!

I'm sorry, but I think we as women can wear sequins in the daytime... I love the look! I don't know what it is, I just love it! But you can't just wear any sequins...
Another great idea to introduce sequins into your wardrobe, is to buy or make a top with sequins as the sleeves...

J.crew last season had a raglan sleeve crewneck shirt with squibs in the front. That would also be really cute, with a collared shirt, skinnies heels, simple jewelry.

Take not of the examples below:

24 days of advent...

Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is an anglicized version of the Latin word adventus, meaning "coming." It is the beginning of the Western liturgical year and commences on Advent Sunday. The Eastern churches' equivalent of Advent is called the Nativity Fast, but it differs both in length and observances and does not begin the church year, which starts instead on September 1.[1]
The progression of the season may be marked with an Advent calendar, a practice introduced by German Lutherans. At least in the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, Moravian, Presbyterian and Methodist calendars, Advent starts on the fourth Sunday before December 25, which is the Sunday from November 27 to December 3 inclusive.[2]
Latin adventus is the translation of the Greek word parousia, commonly used in reference to the Second Coming of Christ. For Christians, the season of Advent anticipates the coming of Christ from two different perspectives. The season offers the opportunity to share in the ancient longing for the coming of the Messiah, and to be alert for his Second Coming.

So that was kinda long, but you get the idea!

And so in my household we celebrate Christmas and advent, by opening one gift a night. And read a scripture/book. It's a special time. It's a time to rely on the important things in life! So...

What are you thankful for?!

Traditions. Traditions are what I strive for, for the holidays! I love traditions.

For thanksgiving every year we go around the table and say one thing that we're thankful for... Mine this year was opportunity. Opportunity that I have already had this year, and the opportunities that still await for me! If you need a new opportunity in your life, I'll believe with you for that!
My family grew this year too! I have 3 nephews, 2 bro in laws and then I now have family in Minnesota, Rule TX, and about ten minutes away! It's wonderful! : )

But what I really want to know from you is:

What are you thankful for?!

What is your favorite kind of pie?

What are you traditions?

Do you watch the Macy's thanksgiving parade?!

Or the pedigree dog show?

What do you usually wear? Dressy casual?

I really liked my outfit today! I had on a men's plaid shirt that I thrifted, a burgundy batwing sweater, black skinnies, hiking like boots, Maude C. Feather earrings. (FYI: they're amazing earrings!)

Day 22: Ryn B. - One of my favorite things... Cableknit.

I am loving cable-knit type things right now...
Not just in sweaters! I like it in rugs, ceramics, scarves... seriously everything!

You can decorate with it...
You can wear it.

One thing you can do is to go thrifting and get a men's cableknit sweater.

Super cute, in the cozy/chic look! : ) Just picture; black skinnies, slouchy sweater, ballet flats, top bun, red lips.. See I told you! ; )
So many options! I really think that it makes things cozier!

Think of using a big cableknit sweater in your outfit. Cozy right?

You can also buy new just shop in men's or a bigger size to give you the cozy feeling : )

Cableknit is such a classic look. And such fun look in the winter too! You could also pair a cableknit sweater with a pencil skirt, maybe a colored shirt and heels, a dressy casual effect!

Or a weekend look could be to pair with floral or polkadot denim! Really cute! Ad some sparkle to it too and then throw on some hiking boots or military boots! A nice balance for sure!

And then adding cableknit to your house is adds texture & liveliness to your home! You could place a cableknit throw over your sofa, or a ceramic cableknit vase to hold your beautiful flowers... Or even soap dishes that hold your soap!

I mean there are so many options to choose from! To adding texture into our daily lives! : )

Merry Christmas and Love & Cozy Wishes to you and yours!

Rebekah W. was styled...

So last Sunday I received a text from a wonderful sweet family friend, who wanted me to style her on the following Tuesday. Well we set it up, I went to her house and we got to it! She had at least 7 events she needed outfits for.

Rebekah is in her early 50's, she is meeting her goal weight & she's gorgeous! Her outfits are adorable now! I really like them!

Just because you may be in your late 40's-early 70's does not mean you have to look frumpy or grandma-y! You can still look youthful without looking like its over the top! And you don't have to settle for matchy-matchy outfits, when you can step out of the box and out of your comfort zone too! If you're not sure, you can definitely hire me! : )

And let me just clarify something, no matter what size you are, you can still wear horizontal stripes! Thinner stripes are better for your figure. But stripes are definitely "in"! And plus stripes look good with EVERYTHING! You can never have too many stripes : ) I love stripes!

So back to the story, so I went to her house and helped her with outfits! She has such a great closet full of great pieces. it was definitely fun!

After we put her outfits together, she tried them on,(because it helps to see outfits in a picture) and then when we were finished she looked like she walked right out of a j.crew catalog & a Neimans catalog!

Here are the pics:
