Beauty find: Pacifica Eyeshadow Palette

So if you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or twitter, then you saw my post about the Pacifica eyeshadow palette I had just bought. I told you I would post about it!

I've been eyeing these palette for the past few months, and it just so happened to be 25% off beauty & vitamins at the place I was shopping, so I bought the two palettes. Their names are mystical & enlighten.
(Wearing enlighten here) (btw, had to get a shot in with my niece-y!)

These eyeshadows are wonderful! I get excited every time I am about to use them! They go on so smoothly. They blend well on your eyelid. I still use my NYX lid base primer. And it plays nicely with it!

Just looked up on their website, www.pacificaparfume.com and they have more palettes to choose from! Yay!
And they are reasonably priced too! The regular price of these palettes with out the discount it $14.00ea. Not bad for 4 eyeshadows!

And I really like the palette idea because, it's compact- so when traveling you don't need to bring so many eyeshadows with you. Your not searching for multiple colors when getting ready and it's easy to choose a color!

Pacifica totally nailed it with these!

Oh and did I mention that:
100% vegan, cruelty-free, formulated without FD&C color, phthalates, talc, parabens or petroleum? I didn't think so!
And it's made in USA. Bonus!

Trish McEvoy did a great thing when creating palettes!

So I give this product two thumbs up! Totally worth your money! : )

Enjoy- Ryn

P.S. Lots to share with you soon! Love you all so much!

P.S.S So I forgot to mention on my blog yesterday that my most favorite thing about those make up palettes, was when you open up the palette, you read "you are so pretty" what great packaging! A boost of confidence for ya right there! But always remember you are pretty, but lets not stop there, you are beautiful, lovely, gorgeous & stunning! Forget the whole average or above average thing. Be the best you you can be. And stay confident in knowing you are pretty, lovely, beautiful, gorgeous & stunning!

DIY Friday: 13 days of goodies

"Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory & grace, I want to see my saviors face, cause heaven is a wonderful place! "

This week has been a bit rough. A friend of mine and her husband were killed in a car wreck on the way to see their families in Louisiana on Tuesday. I heard the news on Wednesday. And part of me says, no no, they're still alive, and the other part says, no they're not here anymore. (let me tell ya, it didn't help to watch a walk to remember either!)  But the awesome thing is, they ARE more alive than we are! Stinks for us, but its awesome for them! I never got the opportunity to meet her husband, But Hailey was awesome! So full of life and Jesus! To me she was and forever will be the flower gal. (She used to arrange flowers for a living! At least that was what she wanted to do, before getting married.) She was an incredible person, talented, creative, caring & so pretty! The rough thing for me to wrap my head around is, they had a dog and if you've ever seen the movie Hatchi with Richard Gere, then you'll know where I'm coming from, but that sweet puppy! What will happen to him? Both of his owners passed away. Or was he with them? : (  I just know Hailey & Matthew went to heaven, and what a great celebration they're having! :) Please pray peace & comfort for the Barr & Morgan families.

On a lighter note:
I thought this would be a fun DIY for ya, as I was assembling these goodie bags for my sister! ; ) You can do this DIY for birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries,  valentines, birthing babies, etc! Use your imagination! My mom and I, went to ulta for everything! Since my sister is a makeup artist, it's only natural to gift her with beauty products! I'd love this sometime! So fun!

What you'll need:
Brown paper lunch bags
Your goodies of choice
Hole punch
Ribbon or tulle
Sharpie
Big shopping bag (if transporting)
Notecard

This is pretty much self explanatory, so I won't be doing a step by step, this time!

(See got my bags from Wally World!)

Ta-da! Perfecto! Have a great weekend! -Ryn

Tippies & Trickies: Useful unexpected beauty items...

Here are a list of items you can use to beautify yourself or when you are in a pinch! I had to ask some gal pals on Facebook for any inside tips on regular items that aren't for the beauty purposes necessarily...  Here's what we came up with!!!

Have you ever been somewhere, where you needed to blot your nose, when you noticed you switched  purses and forgot your rice paper to blot with?

Here are are some alternatives you can use in a pinch:
The tissue toilet seat covers (I hear it works better than the rice paper!)
Hands down, BEST blotters around, Starbucks napkins.
And the shock of all shocks, mini or maxi pads! It doesn't smear your makeup. And almost every bathroom has a dispenser for them.

How about when you ran out of your dry shampoo, and you are already on your third day of not washing your hair (The BEST day I might add!)?

Here's the scoop on looking as fresh as the first day of washing:
Cornstarch, it absorbs the natural oils your hair produces.
Baby powder, a baby fresh scent to freshen your hair.
Unsweetened Cocoa powder, for dark hair only, unless you like the "your roots are showing" look and then, go for it!

Ever wish you could speed up the drying time on your nails? Now you can!

Quick dry spray for you nails:
PAM cooking spray, the oils and the aerosol help with the drying time! It's a miracle product. It even moisturizes your cuticles!
Ice water - dunk your nails in ice water and it quickly dries your nails.

What about when you see blackheads forming an army on your nose, and you ran out of you last biore strip last month!?

Blackhead retrievers:
White glue. Brush it on, let dry & peel off.
Gelatin/milk, it also retrieves blackheads.

If you ever need a great eye makeup remover, cleanser or moisturizer, Here's a miracle product just for you!

Moisturizer/Cleanser:
Coconut oil. It works for everything! Believe me!

Exfoliating much? If you're wanting to scruff your face but not entirely sure you want to put $24.95 on a tube of face scrub?

Face exfoliator:
Baking soda. Softest scrub ever, but very beneficial!
Sugar, it's the best for the body & for the face.

Ran out of Crest white strips?

Try:
Activated charcoal. Use two capsules of AC, dip your toothbrush in it and brush those pearly whites.
Hydrogen peroxide, it's a natural whitener.
Strawberries. Mash some up or while munching on a few, rub on your teeth and instantly see them brighter!

Forgot to buy makeup primer, when you ran into ulta for it, and left with a bag of other things? ; )

Face primer:
Monistat chaffing gel. I know sounds weird, but apparently it has the same ingredient: Dimethicone, which is a silicon polymer , as the Smashbox photo finish primer. Although you will be paying a total of $7 give or take, rather than $36 for Smashbox!!! Pretty awesome I think!

Have you ever woken up and huge baggies are under your eyes, And you absolutely have no time to apply cucumbers and sit back and relax to reduce the puffiness?

Try:
Preparation H. I know it may seem a bit to use that on the opposite direction of where you would apply it. But, it does decrease puffiness.

Ever run out of face toner? Need a quick stand in?

Face toner:
Apple cider vinegar - besides the fact that it isn't the most pleasant smell in the world, it does do the trick!
Witch hazel. It reduces blackheads & zits, while toning that beautiful face of yours!

Ever wanted shinier hair without using and oil that could weigh down your hair?

Try:
Apple cider vinegar. If you pour it on your locks, it conditions and makes your hair very shiny!

So I hope you enjoyed just the beginning of some helpful tippies & trickies! If you have any to share, Please comment below! : )

Soul searcher: joy

So I've realized that I haven't had a lot of joy surround me lately... I mean, I've had spurts, but I've been in busy mode and I forgot to laugh... Hard!

Well yesterday at church, they were doing water babtism, and with how the church is set up, if your are looking at the stage, the "tub" would be on the upper left hand corner. It's on the second floor but you can see what's going on, while sitting or standing in the congregation. Well, my mom didn't see what was happening except of what she saw on the screens, and then, (if I could have videotaped what I'm about to say, I totally would have!) all of a sudden my mom gets so startled when she finally realizes its pretty much going on above her and she sees two men's heads there! Hahaha can you say laughing! We both busted out laughing, all while P+W is going on! But at just the moment mom got startled & as we were hunched over the pews laughing hysterically, down comes Luke Huch (he also has some tunes waiting to be listened to! Go to: www.lukehuch.com and support him!, the pastor's son, and out of the corner of my eye, I see him start laughing coming down the stairs! Since we're laughing, it's hard not to laugh yourself!

So during worship, I heard The Lord say: when there is Joy, there is success! When you let joy reside in your heart, you see things come together, clients come to you & you be fully submerged in success.

I don't know about you, but I want joy to always always be with me! I want success wherever I go!

Joy is contagious. It should be, too. I would rather joy catch on like wildfire than anger or jealousy spread throughout the people! It's amazing what can trigger joy! A peanut on the ground could make one laugh, I guess!

So, my advice is, don't get so serious, so worked up and stressed about things in your life. Don't take yourself too seriously! Because when there is joy, there is success!

And another piece of advice is to pass it on! Let others feed off of your joy! Don't be hiding it under a bushel or something! Pay it forward!

Joy is contagious!
Find things that make you laugh at, throughout the day, it'll help pass the time! : )

DIY Friday: v-neck redo

When you think about constructing a garment, it may be a bit daunting, but it really isn't. Especially a t shirt.  You just need the fabric, the pattern, the seeing machine, the iron, the thread. With this project I'm taking some of the steps out of it.

This project does take a sewing machine...
But if you have a crew neck or a short vneck that you want to customize into a longer vneck, this is the DIY for you! ; )

I'm all about longer v-necks. It looks better on my décolletage. And you can buy men's t-shirts for the roominess & bagginess without compromising a femininity in a t-shirt.

What you'll need:
Sewing machine
Pins
Thread
T-shirt (I got the tshirt from target men's section)
Knit
Embroidery thread
Needle

(You can also do a u-neck. But make sure when you cut the neckline you curve the cut. )

I used a patterned rayon jersey as the
"new" neckline, and I must say, I wouldn't probably make more necklines with material, unless the tee is rayon jersey aswell.

Iron out any wrinkles the neckline fabric has. And starch it.
Then cute a strip about 20"x2 1/2in.

Fold the fabric over and starch and iron.

I serged the edge of my neckline, but if you do not have a serger, just use the raw edges.
Then you'll want to find the center front & back, by using the shoulder seams back to back, pin together.. Mark the centers, And then eyeball where you want you V to start. The cut. Back to front. Starting at the neckline seam and then gradually making a longer V.

See?

Then mark the center back. And the middle of the neckline strip.
Then pin the middle of neckline to the center back.
Use your sewing machine and start sewing.

Stitch a second seam.

Sleeves:
I then folded the sleeves. Folded the sleeves up twice.
Pin the sleeves in place.
Then use your needle and embroidery thread to stitch 1/4in segments 3in apart. Totaling to 4 segments each sleeve.

Any then you are done!

It was a bit complicated but not terrible! If you need any help, don't be afraid to ask! Here's my email: www.styledbyryn.com :)

Have a great Friday! -Ryn

Style find: Madewell Tote

I am totally swooning over Madewell's Transport Tote in English saddle (They have a black color with caramel handle tote too.)

I would adore having this bag. Which I will be owning soon.
[If anyone would like to buy this for me, you are more than welcome to! ; )  ]
Perfect for a carry-on!

It is a bit stiff in the store. But one of my sales girls that I go to all the time said "It will soften!" Yay! And The really cool part is, you can have any leather Madewell bag monogrammed!!! The colors you can have are, either gold lettering or dark brown lettering. It is $10.00 extra, but it's well worth it I think! (I heart the gold lettering. The only part to make a decision on, is if I should do RYN or LEB... What do you think? LEB are my initials.)

Here are the dimensions:
